Keeping-In-Step, founded in 2002, is a tutorial service designed to provide affordable educational support for grade school students who have poor skills or who are at risk of failing at their current grade level. As a supporter of the government's initiative "No Child Left Behind", Keeping-In-Step provides additional support that many students need to be successful. Each student is given an assessment, an individualized improvement plan, and goals are created. Keeping-In-Step also offers graduation and college test preparation for students. The test preparation consist of tutoring and workshops that focus on the ACT, GED, SAT and the Maryland High School Assessment Exam.
Since 2002 Keeping-In-Step has grown from a home-based business to providing each client with a personal tutor who will come to the clients home, school, or a location convenient for both the client and tutor. We also offer e-tutoring. (For help connecting to us via the internet, please call 240-838-6278.)

At Keeping-In-Step we believe that children grow and learn at different rates; therefore, we do not believe in locking parents into contracts.
After the first 10 weeks, parents will be able to see improvements in the child's skills and abilities; and the child will be given a post test. If your child has mastered what is needed for his/her success, our job is done. If your child needs more assistance, we continue to work with your child without locking the parent into a new contract.
Building Minds One Step At A Time is our mission and our slogan. It reflects our promise to parents to meet their child where they are and to help them gain the skills that they need to progress in school and build their confidence.
